Department OverviewThe Application Practice Office has expanded its role to include deployment services for the post-sale delivery of public safety software systems in the police, fire, and 911 communications domains. The department works with internal and external partners to create world class public safety products and solutions meeting the demanding requirements of 911 Dispatch Centers, Fire Agencies, and Police Agencies.
Job Description

Note: This is a remote position (US) and the candidates can reside in EST or CST.

Overview:

The Deployment System Architect (DSA) is responsible for the deployment of Computer Aided Dispatch Systems, Mobile Applications, and Records Management Systems. They are responsible for all phases of Post-Sale system delivery from project turn-over to customer acceptance. The DSA is the owner of the technical solution. They work along side the Project Manager to define and control project Scope, define the technical solution, the technical work breakdown structures that drive the schedule, and ownership of all technical documentation and deliverables. The DSA works directly with customers to successfully define customer requirements, interface requirements and works with interface developers and other solution architects to build and deploy interfaces that meet contractual commitments. The DSA will continually strive for standardization, reuse, and lessons learned for improved efficiency. The candidate must be able to troubleshoot difficult technical issues and work with minimal supervision. Some travel is required. The successful candidate will comply with corporate training requirements and will track billable hours for project work completed.

Preferred skills & experience:

  • Public Safety Applications and processes experience

  • Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management System experience

  • CAD system Interfaces to third party Applications

  • Records system Interfaces to third party Applications

  • Windows Server 2019, SQL Server 2019 or newer, SQL scripting (T-SQL)

  • Proficiency with XML, XPATH, Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT)

  • Proven self motivated team player

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Software System Engineering experience

  • Networking knowledge and ability to debug TCP, UDP connections

  • Knowledge of packet capture tools is a plus

This position is subject to working in high-security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline AND 7+ years experience in multiple software disciplines: Systems Integration, Software Engineering, Product Development, System Test, System Support, Information Technology or similar technical or engineering disciplines.

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer.
