Director of Engineering
About Your Role:
Dotdash Meredith is looking for an experienced technology leader with a demonstrated track record of mentorship, innovative thinking, and technical excellence, to oversee our Ad Revenue Engineering teams.
Working across the entire Dotdash Meredith portfolio of brands and sites, you will be partnering with business stakeholders to plan implementations of advertising, data management, and consent management platforms, and working alongside and guiding your team to deliver on these opportunities. You will have a direct and immediate impact on helping create new systems and platforms, while ensuring existing pathways are efficient, and performant.
About your contributions:
Directly oversee and manage multiple engineering managers responsible for a group of 10+ engineers within the Ad Revenue space, helping to manage, grow and mentor direct reports and their teams.
Be the face of your teams, collaborating with many stakeholders and technical groups to determine timelines, plan larger scoped projects and deliver on plans.
Ability to both be strategic and tactical, helping to set guidance and vision, while supporting your team's day to day needs on delivery.
Responsible for the technical ownership of our proprietary Ad Revenue systems, and integrations with third party systems.
Strong domain knowledge of the Ad tech space, and publishings role within it.
Work towards a standard of excellence in areas such as code reviews, process improvement and delivery.
Have regular one on one’s with your reports, handle performance reviews, and other managerial tasks.
About You:
5+ years of experience in an Engineering leadership role.
5+ years of experience in managing reports, or a strong history of developer mentorship and guidance.
Experience in the programmatic advertising ecosystem; with IAB Standards such as OpenRTB, OpenDirect, and VAST; and with industry concepts like header bidding and consent management platforms.
A strong understanding of application architecture and the infrastructure supporting it (CI/CD, deployment pipeline, logging and alerting, etc)
An eye for performance, and page speed in the web space.
